oor people in developing countries are rightfully concerned about whether their families are safe, sheltered and adequately nourished. Where does privacy fit into that mix? In many parts of the world, by constitution, statute or treaty, privacy is considered a human right. Accordingly, regardless of whether someone is rich or poor, their privacy must be protected. In addition to human rights concerns, however, there are a number of pragmatic reasons why privacy of all people should be respected, including that of poor people.
